Hey There! You have just stumbled across Faded Paw Prints' FAQ Thread. As of now, the FAQ is quite small, but you can help to expand this thread by sending Me a PM with your contribution to the thread. It will then be read for Grammar mistakes and edited into the main post.

Getting Started

What is a forum?

A forum is a message board that allows users to communicate with one another and post in discussions relating to their interests. To gain access to most features, you'll have to register. But not to worry, registration is free and only takes a minute.

What does LOL, SIV, BRB, et c mean?

"LOL" and other acronyms are typical internet slang used on forum boards, although FPP have created a few of their own. A list is below;

LOL = Laugh Out Loud.
SIV = Sorry I Vanished. (possibly created by Decho or Keatos from NP)
BRB = Be Right Back.
IIRC = If I Recall Correctly (Possibly created by Decho or Keatos from NP)
FPP = Faded Paw Prints (the sites name)
IMO = In My Opinion.
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion.
ROFL = Roll On Floor Laughing.
LMAO = Laughing My Fat Ass Off.

The list is only a few, but you can easily pick up what other acronyms stand for.

What is the Shoutbox?

The shoutbox is a device located on the board Index, Arcade and Shop pages. It allows users to communicate instantly and acts as the forums IM service.

Alright, so how do I use it?

Using the shoutbox is simple. Just type a message into the white text box and hit the enter key. It should also be noted that some of the BBCode options such as Bold Text, Italics, Underline, et c which have been mentioned in Azure's FAQ on Posting are compatible with the shoutbox, but you have to use the buttons instead of actually typing in [b*][*/b] (without the star).

Posting

What is a thread?

A thread is simply a topic of discussion that users post in. For example, this FAQ is a thread, and I have made three posts in it.

How do I post? (Written and revised by our very own Azure Kite)

1.) Smilies. Click one to put in text!
2.)Post Button! You click it when you are done with a post to put it up.
3.)Preview Button. Gives you the ability to see post before done, to see if it's what you want.
4.)Additional Options: Gives you some special options for this post.
5.)Message Icons. Not much affect. Just changes the picture of post.
6.)Subject. Don't worry about it unless you are starting a new topic.
7.)Color Picker. For use with the Text color and backGround color.
8.) BackGround Color. Hues area behind word. Currently Inactive.
9.)Text Hue. Changes color of the text.

Huh, alright. So then how do I get people to reply?

Simply put, you can't. If a user takes interest in your thread (remember when making a thread, that names that stand our always get more views) then they'll probably reply to it. Alternatively, you could ask a friend in the shoutbox to reply, but that usually just annoys people.
